Valentines for Whitney

Below – the scene outside the Beverly Hilton hotel, where Whitney Houston was found dead on Saturday afternoon, on Valentine’s Day, a few days after the pop-star’s death.
 

Unlike with Michael Jackson’s passing where there were a number of sites fans could gather and lay tributes down, there is the only real site people on the West Coast can go. Whitney was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the mid-90s but a dedication date wasn’t set down and so she never got it. Her family home is in Newark, New Jersey, so as many fans here outside the hotel told me, this is the only place they can gather.
