The Cannes Diaries – A Weekend of Rain and Revelry


 
It’s been a cold, wet weekend in Cannes – in other words, perfect movie-watching weather. It’s so uncharacteristically Cannes, at least in my experience of the conditions here over the past six years (although there was that one year when the South African party at the Martinez beach was totally rained out). The croisette has been dotted with umbrellas, as people make their way to catch one screening or another. I even saw a woman wear a bathrobe over her dress right up until the moment she walked onto the red carpet, and then she took it off and handed it to the assistant next to her.  La pluie!
 





 
In Cannes, there’s a red carpet for everything…
