Entertainment Express: Guardians of the Galaxy, Banksy, The Brit Awards, Pharrell Williams, Bette Midler

* The first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer debuted during Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday night. It shows our hero, Peter Quill played by Chris Pine, finding a mysterious orb and getting into trouble for it, along with Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel as part of his band of misfits. Disney cosmos-set movie comes out in August.

* Banksy‘s work – complete with the walls they were done on – has gone under the hammer in Miami. One of the British street artist’s most well known works, Kissing Coppers picked up $575 000, but two other works, which were created during his NY residency didn’t reach the kinds of figures that had been predicted.

* The Brit Awards will be taking place in London today. Beyonce is set to be performing, along with Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, the Arctic Monkeys, Lorde, Disclosure, Rudimental and Bruno Mars. There is also a rumour Prince, who is in London at the mo’, may too. For those of us outside the UK, the merriness will be streaming online here.

* Oscar-nominated actress and Grammy-winning artist Bette Midler will be performing at this year’s Oscars too. No word yet on how producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will be putting her to use.

And the Pussy Riot members who were detained in Sochi have been released.
