In a show that didn’t have nearly enough Neil Patrick Harris pizzazz, Modern Family earned its fourth straight Emmy for best comedy series, and Breaking Bad  scooped its first statue for best drama series. The should’ve-been-a-movie-movie Behind the Candelabra won three Emmy Awards for best miniseries or TV movie, outstanding director for Steven Soderbergh and lead actor honors for Michael Douglas, for playing Liberace. In his acceptance speech, Douglas thanked his co-star, fellow nominee Matt Damon, saying it was a “two-hander.” And no-one will forget Nurse Jackie‘s Merritt Wever’s brief-but-memorable “I gotta go, thanks, bye” acceptance speech. Ha!
