* A thrilling redband (read: safe for all eyes) trailer for the upcoming Spike Lee remake of Chan wook-Park’s cult classic Oldboy has been released. The film, starring Josh Brolin, Samuel L Jackson, Elisabeth Olsen and our guy Sharlto Copley, comes out in October. The big question on everyone’s mind: will the new film still include the shocking reveal at the end?
* Jay-Z rapped, or lip-synched rather, for 6 hours at an art gallery in New York on Wednesday, dancing with gallery owners and artist extraordinaire Marina Abramović too, leading many to wonder out-loud if performance art is dead, or as one site asked, if it’s just moved to Brooklyn? I still marvel when I think of when The National performed the same song for 6 hours in April at PS1 MoMA. No lip-syncing there!
