    Bye bye CT, Woza Jozi…

Think that’s right. It’s been a crazy couple of days – as mentioned before. Cape Town crazy. Have lost a bit of my voice, which is not good for radio, but that’s what happens when you try to keep up with Snow Patrol at the Coke Zero Fest. Missioned to Lourensford Wine Estate for the event yesterday. The hour-long drive there was so worth it, though. The backdrop against which some fine bands took to the stage was just breathtaking. When the camera panned across the crowds so that we saw a view of what the artists on stage saw, with the mountains in the background, I thought to myself,…

    Cape Town Craziness

It seems Miss Ntertainment needed a few days to come down from all the excitement and mad rush of the past few days – tee hee! The A-list-celeb-filled opening of Sol Kerzner’s One & Only hotel…the CT International Jazz Festival…not to mention spending some time on the set of The Bang Bang Club film in Jozi just before jetting off to the Mother City. The One&Only… Ever since Sol Kerzner opened his lavish Atlantis resort in Dubai, this was the next big party on the hotel tycoon’s calendar. So after an early morning flight, I arrived in my second home, Cape Town. But it felt a little different…for one thing, being…

The Day I Met Sarah Jessica Parker

So in response to Trinny in Dubai’s request, I thought I’d relive some great (or not so) interview moments. This one has to do with my ultimate of ultimates – well, for now, that is. It’s when I was in London last year to attend the Sex and the City movie premiere and interview the cast of the hit series. It was like I had died and gone to Series Heaven. I spent a fortune on my credit card to make sure I looked good in front of Patricia Field, the costume designer, as well as – of course – the fab four. I also got to speak to director…

    Fergie et al

The Duchess of York let me down. Sarah Ferguson, aka Fergie, aka the One who has the Toe-Sucking Fetish. Was due to interview Fergie ’cause she’s teamed up with Martin Scorsese (yeah, you read right) as co-producers on a film about Queen Victoria, that stars The Devil Wears Prada’s Emily Blunt. The interview was scheduled two days before, also got a call two hours before to say all was on track. But 6:15pm came and went. And so, it seems, did Fergie. Who does she think she is – Royalty? Haha ;) But it did make me think about some of the other telephonic interviews I’ve done that have been…

    African magic at Oscars 09

It was a goose-bump inducing moment of pride. And it made up for waking up at 2am to cover the Oscars for work. Seeing Soweto Gospel Choir up there on the Oscar stage. Sure, it was only for a few minutes, but the fact that Hugh Jackman gave a shout out to “Soweto Gospel Choir from South Africa” made it a memorable one. Some other memorable moments that made this year’s ceremony entertaining for me included: * Kate Winslet’s speech: say what you will, the woman has had to sit through this ceremony five times before, and five times before has lost out on Oscar glory. I would also have…
