RIP Maya Angelou

She’s one of the greatest voices of our time – her words that have been shared and passed on and treasured and lived by from generation to generation, and now, at the age of 86, Maya Angelou has died. Her longtime literary agent confirmed on Wednesday that she was found in her home in North Carolina, and although no immediate cause of death was given, the author had been sick for some time with heart problems. maya The poems and novels and memoirs she left behind will be the testimony to her life of service, courage and strength. Her achievements, from her landmark book of 1969, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, to the way she helped us all navigate the waters of life, through her numerous tweets, Dr Maya Angelou’s legacy will be a steadfast one.

Most recently she led the American condolences for the passing of Nelson Mandela. Now, her day is done.

“I am a Woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal Woman, that’s me.”
